Separating – Ego and Self Esteem

When they stand firm not willing to relent
Caring not about precious moments spent
Wanting to not let, misunderstood feelings vent
Holding onto grudge, only later to repent
Not thinking about the other side
Letting scratches become cracks – deep and wide
They assume it is a dead end, with no way to go
The burden on the heart – the emotion called ego

When ready to make the first move, not later wanting to regret
Believe giving the other a chance, but regard for self not to forget
Lives by the philosophy- “Thus far no further “
Be it with friends and every near and dear
When ghosted, they respectfully move on
By now they surely know, for good it is gone
Embracing the virtue called self esteem
Their actions exude grace, coming out supreme
